tormented fire staff
tip: dont use fire staffs, use energy storage (its unaversal that way), unless u need fire dmg for a build for some reason |

Req doesn't really matter for staff. It's not like you will be doing damage with your staff. Pick any skin you like.

I personally think the undead staff from the BMP is the nicest looking staff other than maybe the tormented staff.

Destroyer Staff is great for fire damage - not that it helps the damage, but it looks "fiery"
There's also a nice looking Embercrest Staff (requires Energy Storage), and of course, the Tormented Staff. Last edited by Quaker; Jan 29, 2008 at 03:31 PM // 15:31.. |

Req don't matter much, as long as it has a 20% mod unless it's inscribable. Zodiacs are fine too, but are pretty hard to sell or find any the past few weeks. I'm still trying to sell an inscribable req 9 i got for instance..

All are your preference its just eye candy………… They have some great ones out there.
Value is another story read through the price check forum and you will see the expensive ones. I really like a few of the new ones from Gwen Suntouched Staff is cool Too bad I don’t have an Energy storage one... Just a divine favor one Oh well |

Tengu Staves are very nice in my opinion.
And you'd definitely want to get a staff that uses your primary attribute. That way you can use the same staff for all of your builds, unless the build requires a specific damage type. |

Of course, it depends upon what mods you want and what mods you have available. |

Beat me to it Quaker
The primary attribute staff is a good starting point, but having one for the attribute you mostly use, or several if you switch builds, is the ideal way to go. |

Just to clear up one little thing, there are energy storage staffs that do fire damage. The collector/crafter ES staffs (even the expensive collector/crafter ones like tormented) usually come only in Chaos damage. But, for example, gold portal staffs that come from drops or chests can have any one of the elemental damage types associated.
So, if you decide on a skin that only comes in energy storage you can hold out for one that does the right kind of damage as long as it's something that drops from mobs or chests. You won't be able to get 20% HCT of, say, fire magic with an adept head or inscription. But you can get +1 with a "staff wrapping of Fire Magic" rather than a mastery wrapping. (Those sort of wraps still drop.) If HCT is really important to you, you can use 10% HCT all spells staff head and/or inscription. (Used together they give you 19% chance HCT all spells.) Same goes for most all Ritualist wands/staffs I've seen (any of the four damage types.) As for my vote on nicest skin for a Fire Staff, I say the Canthan metal version of "Fire Staff." Rarest? I'd say a 20/20 fire magic Outcast or Platinum Staff would be hard to find. (afaik, the inscribable platinum staffs that drop in GWEN are only ever linked to a primary attribute, and I don't think Outcast staffs drop outside of Factions.) Good luck getting one you like! Cheers, Luny |
